За создание взялись студии “American Genre Carlton Cuse Productions Kerry Ehrin Productions и Universal Television”.
Сюжет
Этот сериал является предысторией знаменитого фильма, известного режиссера Хичкока, действия в котором уже разворачиваются в наше время. Главная героиня Норма Бейтс решается кардинально изменить свою жизнь после трагичного события которое произошло в ее жизни.
Ее муж ушел из жизни и она осталась одна со своим сыном подростком Все вокруг напоминает о нем. Но его уже нет и ничто не может его вернуть. Тогда решается на переезд в небольшой городок Вайт-Пайн Бэй который расположен в Орегоне. В котором она покупает себе дом с небольшим мотелем.
Который ранее принадлежал семье Саммерс. Глава семейства которого Кит потеряв свое место решается вернуть его и вламывается к ним домой и жестко повелся с новой владелицей когда ее сына не было рядом. После возвращения сына они вместе сумели обезоружить и обездвижить незваного гостя. И норма решается на убийство человека который надругался над ней. Они избавляются от тела и теперь должны хранить эту тайну до конца своей жизни. Но в этом городке не так просто хранить такие страшные тайны.
